Kenya: intractable authoritarianism
Article Abstract:
Politicians' criminal acts and failure to help the people of Kenya are responsible for the deterioration of the internal political situation of Kenya and might ultimately lead to violence and civil strife. External intervention could make a difference in preventing the crises. In this context, a informed, credible, and a constructive international effort at preventive diplomacy could assist a stable political change in Kenya and help prevent the possibility of civil war. The government led by Pres Daniel Moi is described, as well as previous attempts at international intervention.
