Must U.S. per capita income growth be constrained by slow productivity growth in services?
Article Abstract:
The role of higher rate of output growth in increasing the rates of productivity and per capita income growth in the US has been studied. Results indicate that the US should solve its problem of stagnant per capita income growth if it wants GDP rates to rise by 4%. The output growth of the US is now hampered by an uncompetitive manufacturing sector that has a negative impact on the balance of payments. The rates of productivity growth would approximate that of the Golden Age if acceptable rates of output growth could be achieved.

Misfits, misprints, mistakes...
Article Abstract:
UK PhD theses are often poorly presented and contain errors, and this aspects is not coordinated nationally. The development of new technology means that theses can be better presented. There should be a greater emphasis on clarity, rather than trying to impress readers through work that is difficult to understand. Theses do not have to be presented as books in the age of multimedia technology, but this is still no acceptance of alternative methods of presentation.
