Two questions about surrogacy and exploitation
Article Abstract:
An analysis examines whether surrogacy is exploitative and what moral force provides the basis for such an exploitation. The existence of exploitation depends largely whether there is harm done or whether the exploitation is mutually advantageous. This in turn depends on the occurence of a violation of either value, which concerns both the monetary and moral ethics of surrogacy, or choice, which can be subtly influenced by social factors such as the fee a surrogate mother will be receiving for the service. It is concluded that no reasonable bases yet exist for surrogacy to be prohibited.
