A Study of Pre-Assessment Centre Candidate Short- Listing
Article Abstract:
A system was developed to reduce the number of applicants applying for military jobs. This system tried was a short- listing system designed also to reduce the number of applicants while minimizing the number of false rejections at the short-listing stage. Any short-listing system needed to fit into existing recruitment procedure with as little disruption as possible. Several areas were identified to be the most important to assure success at the center. These were outward impressions, educational achievements, achievement in other areas, physical orientation, and realistic career motivation. These areas were then given a numeric value. Tables were developed that can rank applicants. The research shows that modifications of existing procedures can be successfully integrated into recruitment procedures.
