Changes in interhemispheric transfer rate and the development of bimanual coordination during childhood

Article Abstract:

This article explores the relationship between the development of interhemispheric communication and age-related bimanual coordination. The authors, conducting two experiments on children between the ages of 5-10 years old and 3-7 years old, conclude that improved interhemispheric communication has a positive influence on the progress of bimanual coordination.

Testing the concurrent and predicitive relations among articulation accuracy, speech perception, and phoneme awareness

Article Abstract:

The relations among articulation accuracy, speech perception, and phoneme awareness have been examined in a sample of 97 typically developing children ages 48 to 66 months. Concurrent analyses revealed that phoneme-specific relations existed among articulation, awareness, and perception.

Serial reaction time learning in preschool- and school-age children

Article Abstract:

The authors examine the development of serial reaction in test groups consisting of children from 4- to -10 years-old and 7- to -10 years-old. Topics include explicit and implicit motor skills, learning skills and, serial reaction time.
