Diagnostic rules for children with PDD-NOS and multiple complex developmental disorder

Article Abstract:

Explicit or positive diagnostic criteria for pervasive developmental disorders (PDDs) not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS), atypical autism and non-PDD conditions are badly needed as conditions such as PDD-NOS appear to be much more common than typical autism and other specific PDDs. A chart review study was conducted to compare children with multiple complex developmental disorder, children with autism and children with non-PDD externalizing and internalizing disorder on the presence of a substantial number of symptoms. The results are discussed.
