Children's adjustment and prosocial behavior in step-, single-parent, and non-stepfamily settings: findings from a community study

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine the adjustment and prosocial behaviors of children growing up in step-parent, single-parent and non-stepfamily environments. Mean differences in the psychosocial well-being and number of relationship transition of mothers were also examined, including rates of adjustment problems. Results indicated that children's adjustment correlated with the degree of negativity depicted by their mothers in their own relationships.

Children's perspectives on their relationships with their nonresident fathers: Influences, outcomes and implications

Article Abstract:

The relationship of children with their nonresident fathers is always a case of intense studies keeping in mind the increasing number of broken marriages. Positive child-nonresident father relationships depend on the frequency of contact between them and the relationship of the mother and father and the quality of mother-child relationship.

Article Abstract:

Changes in lifestyles are the causes that make couples opt to work far away from their homes, leaving their children either with the mothers or guardians, which affects parent-children relationships and are the causes of divorce. The reasons, affects and solutions to these problems are explained.
