Development and initial validation of the Parent Behavior Inventory

Article Abstract:

The Parent Behavior Inventory (PBI) makes it possible to assess support/engagement and hostility/coercion in parents of preschool- and young school-age children. Experts' analysis of the content of the PBI indicates that its items are relevant and representative of supportive and hostile parenting behaviours. However, its items also reflect a range of behaviours available to parents of young children. It appears that the PBI is appropriate for use by researchers and clinicians under controlled conditions.

Time and change: using survival analysis in clinical assessment and treatment evaluation

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to examine survival-analysis methods in clinical assessment particularly for those investigators who are in need of the appropriate statistical methods. A mathematically sound, comprehensive and practical yet nontechnical introduction to survival techniques is presented. Results demonstrate a complete example of how survival-analysis equipment can be applied in treatment evaluation.
