Enhancing Teamwork in Complex Environments Through Team Training
Article Abstract:
Team training was shown to be effective in enhancing teamwork competencies in a study involving 42 student pilots from an undergraduate naval aviation group. The training was based on theoretical framework developed by J.A. Cannon-Bowers, S.I. Tannenbaum, E. Salas, and C.E. Volpe, and a comprehensive evaluation of the training was undertaken using a multimeasurement evaluation hierarchy.

Pilot Performance Under Reversed Control Stick Conditions
Article Abstract:
Ten experienced and ten inexperienced pilots performed flight simulations. Both groups performed well. The experienced pilots had better control than the inexperienced group. The control stick was then reversed. Both groups performed poorly under the reversed condition. The experienced group performed notably worse. This illustrates a problem of cross-training experienced operators.

Enhancing teamwork in complex environments through team training
Article Abstract:
Team competency can be greatly enhanced through the use of team training. Effective training includes specifically defined competencies in knowledge, skills and attitude that are theoretically and systematically derived and developed. Proper training results in the understanding of teamwork constructs and improved reactions and responses within those constructs.
