Expanding psychology's vision - bridges for the 21st century

Article Abstract:

The field of psychology in particular and the medical care sector in general should seek to broaden their horizons as they enter the 21st century. Among the important thrusts that should be adopted are the promotion of physical activity, the rethinking of clinical responsibilities and functions, the development of executive track programs for practitioners who wish to acquire additional training while employed, collaboration with the nursing profession to train psychologists as primary care nurse practitioners, and the development of an advanced practice nurse training program through distance learning.
