Influences on the career choice of psychotherapists
Article Abstract:
The causes behind the career choice of psychotherapists seem in many ways similar to the causes mentioned by social psychologists but with certain noteworthy dissimilarities. Social psychologists and therapists are similar in terms of altruism and in following personal development and satisfaction in their selected careers. Both professional groups mention strong, interpersonal alliances as significant experiences in their career directions. But therapists put more stress on achievement and success than social psychologists.
