Psychology, the basic science for mental health

Article Abstract:

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) believes that basic behavioral science research is critical to learn more about human mind, behavior, individuals and the society in the behavioral, cognitive, emotional, motivational, and socio-cultural processes. The central role of basic psychological research in understanding and treating mental health is to gain a full understanding of the causes, courses, and treatments of mental disorders. However, lately social science is threatened by political involvement and interference in its day-to-day research activities.
