Shared transmission of eating disorders and anxiety disorders

Article Abstract:

The comorbidity and shared transmission between eating pathology and disorders such as mood, anxiety and substance use disorders are examined using twins from the population-based Minnesota Twin Family Study. The result shows that significant comorbidity was found between eating disorders and major depression, anxiety disorders, and nicotine dependence.

I know what you did last summer (and it was not CBT): a factor analytic model of international psychotherapeutic practice in the eating disorders

Article Abstract:

The various interventions used by psychotherapists like CBT-BN (bulimia nervosa) and psychodynamic therapy in the treatment of eating disorders is described. It was seen that many clinicians were familiar with treatment manuals and were making good use of the manuals in treating their patients.

Family-based treatment of eating disorders

Article Abstract:

The theory and empirical support for family treatment of eating disorders is described. The main literature related to family treatment for anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa is reviewed and the findings are highlighted.
