Wonder in the heart of Empire: Deborah Warner's Medea and The Angel project
Article Abstract:
The word E mpire is not a continuation of older forms of capitalist imperialism and modernisms, but a definitively new form of political, social, and productive organization. The possibilities for an ethical materialism, using Deborah Warner's 2002-03 New York production of Medea, with Fiona Shaw in the title role and Warner's stunning summer of 2003 New York City performance installation, The Angel Project, are tested.

Genetic research, family life, and clinical practice
Article Abstract:
Technological advances have expanded the scope of clinical genetics from mere detection of inherited disorders and prediction of the likelihood of recurrence to include identification of important human gene mutations. The application of new new genetic techniques and its social and psychological impact on families and children are examined. Such issues as genetic testing and genetic counseling are also discussed.
