The Hebb legacy
Article Abstract:
Donald Olding Hebb was an influential figure in psychology during his lifetime and his innovative ideas continue to influence the field even after his death. He organized his ideas into a 'general theory of behavior' by writing 'The Organization of Behavior: A Neuropsychological Theory,' which attracted scientists interested in brain mechanisms of behavior. The ideas in this book, which first appeared in 1949, are now applied in psychology, neuroscience, neurophysiology, robotics, engineering and computer science.
