Digital object identifiers for ebooks: what are we identifying?
Article Abstract:
Publishers who plan to sell electronic books need a way to encrypt and identify an electronic book as an object on the World Wide Web. One system of identification called Digital Object Identifier is explained. Sources of information on electronic publishing include the Open eBook Forum and the International DOI Foundation.
