A conversion from cooperative apartments to condominiums provides some financing opportunities for lenders. After an appraisal based on the aggregate value of all units after conversion less those not participating in the refinancing, the normal rise of value is 10 to 20 percent.

Privatizing subsidized housing: creating equity for tenants and eliminating the government subsidy
Article Abstract:
The shrinking of governmental funds that promote subsidized housing, and the factors affecting the subsidized housing are studied. The Ruppert-Yorkville Model is examined as a mode for privatization of subsidized housing and providing a chance to the tenants to generate equity.
