Improving recycling and waste-handling efficiency in New York City
Article Abstract:
New York City need to improve its recycling and waste handling efficiency to protect the environment. Its current recycling program is targeted mainly at single family homes and small apartment buildings and is inefficient in a number of ways. Recommendations for improving the recycling rates of the city include implementation of education programs, providing assistance to homeowners in obtaining proper containers, creating new initiatives and policies and amending building codes to meet recycling standards.

Asset management design is a new concept for improving real estate properties that are underutilized, distressed or foreclosed by authorities. Asset management design is an instrument for the improvement of viable properties and creation of solution to problematic properties. Its main objective is asset improvement. Several hypothetical asset management design issues are presented.
