NAR, consumers turn up heat on big banks
Article Abstract:
In January 2001, the Federal Reserve Board and the US Treasury Department issued a proposed rule to define real estate brokerage as a financial activity, which allows banks to enter into real estate management and relocation services. The National Association of Realtors is strongly opposed to the rule and to the involvement of banks in real estate.

Developer responsible for accessibility violations
Article Abstract:
The National Assn of Realtors (NAR) will ask the US Department of Housing and Urban Development to exempt third-party buyers from liability in case of accessibility violations. NAR said the uncertainty over liability is affecting transactions in the multifamily market.
