Northern New Jersey
Article Abstract:
Northern New Jersey encompasses a ten county area which in 1983 increased its amount of office space by twelve million square feet. Occupancy rates have also soared, and although there is about an eighteen per cent vacancy rate, the rental price for the office space has actually increased slightly. This area offers a highly concentrated suburban office environment, and many firms escaping from New York have located here. Many of the office development projects, their space and rental fees are described city by city. The area not only attracts much attention from local developers, but out of state developers and large institutional builders are beginning to offer more competition. The region is also planning construction of a new highway which will help link up the region with the New York Thruway. The development taking place in Northern New Jersey is almost all office development, with little building occurring in other sectors of the real estate market.

Computerized data bases: a new day dawns for the facility planning process
Article Abstract:
Data bases to provide information needs to facility planners and site selection are currently available through about half of the states, with state agencies in most other states planning such a service. In addition, Conway Data, Inc. provides a on-line service, SITENET, which includes data from the state agencies. Since the agencies can continuously update industrial information to the data base, facility planners will find it increasingly profitable to use this current information in making site selections.
