The emergence of Sioux Falls' east side as an alternative to the west side retailing district is inevitable with the growth of the city. PariPassu Cos. and Opus Northwest LLC, for instance, are preparing for key retail developments near the the intersection of Highways 11 and 42. The state government's plans for improving the city's infrastructur are also presented.

Struggling Twin Cities mall teams with Wal-Mart

Brookdale Center in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota has teamed up with Wal-Mart to rejuvenate the mall, which has suffered a decline in customers. Wal-Mart will build a 184,000-square-foot, one-story outlet to replace a Mervyn's outlet that has been closed since 2005.
