U.S. Pacific states boot up for high-tech investment
Article Abstract:
The stagnation of the Asian market has not had as great an adverse impact on the U.S. Pacific states as thought would happen. The area has seen two times more foreign direct investment than all other countries combined. However, the region has not received the amount of foreign direct investment it would like, in large part because consolidation is taking place in the high-tech industries. California's Silicon Valley and other areas, Oregon's high-tech boom, and Washington's success re discussed.
