Article Abstract:

A recent survey reports that the average salary in the property market is 33,600 pounds sterling, which is a 7% increase since 1997. Salaries in the investment sector are higher than other sectors and they are 5% more than they were in 1997, averaging at 41,300 pounds. Performance bonuses were paid to 44% of staff who responded to the survey, while 62% received a bonus of at least 1,000 pounds, against only 38% who did so in 1997. Staff in Scotland, and Greater London get paid more than people in any other area of the United Kingdom, while those in the Midlands and Wales get paid least.

Fight for the beaches

Article Abstract:

British seaside resorts are having to find new markets as traditional visitors prefer to travel abroad for their holidays. Some towns have developed a market as a business centre and have opened up conference facilities, such as Paignton, Devon, England. Blackpool has become a popular destination for day or short break visitors. The authorities in Bognor Regis, Sussex, England, are planning to develop a marina on the waterfront, with new 3,000 houses and a commercial area.
