Princeton, NJ Mayor Michele Tuck's first major concern when she assumed office in Jan. 1996 was the proposed consolidation of Princeton Borough and Township. This may be decided by referendum in Nov. 1996. The 'town and gown' factor is analyzed. The politics of Tuck, NJ's first Black woman mayor, are discussed.

The Tiger Kings

Princeton Tigers won the National Invitational Tournament in 1975 under famed coach Pete Carril. As he leaves for an assistant coach post with the National Basketball Assn.'s Sacramento Kings, questions arise as to whether former assistant coach Bill Carmody can duplicate Carril's success.

Carril has tempered his coaching style since his transfer from the Princeton Tigers to the National Basketball Assn's Sacramento Kings in 1997. He still believes, though, that discipline among players is the key to winning a game.
