Bhutan in 1992: "going out" and "staying back"
Article Abstract:
Bhutan implemented its Seventh Five Year Plan in 1992 with the assistance of India, the UN and benevolent third country aid donors. The government aims to improve the social conditions in the country's southern part, specifically in the areas of education, infrastructure, health services and telecommunications. However, terrorist activities of the militant Bhutan People's Party continue to pose grave threats to the nation's fragile political system.

Nepal and Bhutan in 2006: A year of revolution
Article Abstract:
Nepal witnessed the final collapse of King Gyanendra's attempt to re-establish monarchial rule in 2006, with the re-establishment of the Parliament following a period of civil unrest. On the other hand, King Wangchuk in Bhutan began the process in 2006 for handing over power and introducing constitutional rule in Bhutan in 2008.

The middle path to democracy in the kingdom of Bhutan
Article Abstract:
The formalization of traditional institutions can encourage the conditions of democracy in Bhutan. The issues related to the local democratic village political system, required structural changes, implementation of democratic principles like justice, liberty and equality are analyzed.
