Chinese apprehensions about revitalization of the US-Japan alliance

Article Abstract:

China is concerned about Japanese defence policies and the revitalization of the US-Japan alliance. The interaction of China and Japan and their relationship with the US will help determine the future of the Asia-Pacific region. China is fearful intensification of the US-Japan alliance may result in the two countries' cooperating to contain China militarily.

Rising Chinese influence in the South Pacific: Beijing's 'Island Fever'

Article Abstract:

Increased interaction within the Pacific region on the part of China that is expected to increase the country's 'soft power' over the other countries of the area is discussed. The impact of China's potential economic, political and strategic motivations on the U.S. is discussed.
