Chu-ko Liang in the eyes of his contemporaries
Article Abstract:
The legend of Chu-ko Liang as a Chinese culture hero apparently developed fairly soon after his death in 234 AD, but evidence suggests he was viewed differently by the court than by the general populace. Within a few decades of his death, the major episodes of his legend were in existence although stories portraying contradictory aspects of his character had not yet been eliminated. Popular veneration of Chu-ko Liang began fairly soon, but building of a temple was resisted by the court for 29 years. There is evidence that his standing at court varied and that he was the target of some resentment and distrust.

"Junzi Yue" versus "Zhongni Yue" in 'Zuozhuan'
Article Abstract:
The identities of the junzi and Kongzi in the 4th-century BC Chinese text 'Zuozhuan' have been the subject of much controversy, since the work was edited and altered over the centuries. The junzi, the "superior man," was most likely the narrator of the work. The views of Kongzi were probably created by the Confucian compilers of 'Zuozhuan.'
