This article discusses the machinery sculpture by Thomas Owen Every. The author, maintaining Every reinvented himself as Dr. Evermor, examines the artist's endeavors to demolish, dismantle, and rebuild the technologies of the 19th and 20th centuries in an effort to preserve the machine age as the electronic age threatens to take over.

The sculpture of Kea Tawana is explored. The author, maintaining Tawana spent 20 years building her ark from ruined 19th century buildings, discusses Tawana's efforts to save her ark from being destroyed by the city of Newark and the symbolism of the ark to preserve the historic architecture of Newark.

The unconventional, monumental metallic works of art, created by Billy Tripp, existing among the Tennessee background are discussed. The authors maintain the unique sculptures, made from scrap metal and other metallic devices, represent the very ordinary life of the artist.
