Evidentiary assessment in refugee status determination and the EU Qualification Directive
Article Abstract:
Article 4 of the EU Qualification Directive presents a model relating to several aspects of evidentiary assessment in refugee status determination. The Directive requires the authorities to identify the applicant's claim and verify the relevant proof required for application of refugee status by processing information and evidence in three stages.

Fundamental freedoms and private actors - towards an 'indirect horizontal effect'

The article addresses the problem of "horizontal direct effect" of fundamental freedoms in legal orders. It offers ideas and incentives for a solution through a comparison with aspects of German domestic law.
