"In darkest Africa": Martyrdom and resistance to colonialism in Rhodesia
Article Abstract:
The historical issue, the 'fragility of historical memory,' is highlighted as it related to research on the Salvation Army in Zimbabwe in 1991 and 1998. It was discovered that a foreign people with a foreign culture inhabited the African resistance to the 1890-91 British-Christian 'invasion' of a foreign land.

The effects of public school expenditure and parental education on youth literacy in sub-Saharan Africa
Article Abstract:
A study on the role of school expenditure, parental education and religion on youth literacy is conducted in sub-Saharan Africa. It is revealed that the roles of religion and government expenditures on youth literacy are inconclusive and parental education plays an important role in the education of children.
