By purchasing a library card for $35 per year for the Godfrey Memorial Library in Middletown, Connecticut, remote users can access online databases including those of Ebsco Information Services. Data available to library patrons includes major newspapers, US Federal Censuses and PERSI index to genealogy and local history materials.

Arthur Edwin Hoad, a dentist in Illinois in 1919, moved to California and nothing more was known about him after 1933. His life and ancestors were traced using primarily online sources: census records, his obituary and other newspaper articles, cemetery records as well as research from a genealogical society.
