The city of Philadelphia, PA has a dearth of black, male waiters, even though its population is 50% African-American and 12% Latino. African-American attorney Obra Kernodle III believes that most restaurants want no more 20 percent minority workers because more than that would make their white clientele uncomfortable.

Termini Brothers is an Italian-American bakery that is best known for its luscious cannoli dessert. Its archrival is Cosmi's Pastries, which is run by a family that is related to the Termini family by blood. The feud that has kept the two families apart is believed to have erupted in the 1920s.
