Gyp and Flammarion: a marriage of love or convenience?
Article Abstract:
The relationship between the antisemitic novelist Gyp (pseudonym of Sibylle-Gabrielle Marie-Antoinette de Riquetti de Mirabeau, comtesse de Martel de Janville) and the publisher Ernest Flammarion, during the period of the Dreyfus Affair, is discussed. Commercial, strategic and ideological aspects of Flammarion's decision to publish the 'auteur maudit' are considered.

Immigration maghrehbine en France: l'integration des femmes
Article Abstract:
Integrating immigrant women from the Maghreb into France poses both religious and cultural problems. Keeping the veil can be a sign of both French and Islamic identity. By stigmatizing Islam and Islamic costume, France runs the risk that these immigrants will refuse French society. The text of the article is in French.
