Investing in amnesia, or fantasy and forgetfulness in the World Bank's approach to healthcare reform in Sub-Saharan Africa
Article Abstract:
World Bank's report entitled 'Better Health in Africa' revealed interesting information regarding the institution's stand on the state of healthcare in countries located in the Sub-Saharan Africa. The report gives Africans and Western donors a useful guide on how to deal with the region's healthcare by citing past research. On the other hand, the report tends to be biased by praising and defending Western biomedicine and attitude towards African healthcare. It seeks to disregard external pressures, which contribute to the region's poor healthcare state, being exerted by Western countries on African countries.
