Newspaper coverage of U.S.-Japan frictions: balance and objectivity
Article Abstract:
Coverage of the US-Japan trade conflict by Japanese and American newspapers is balanced and objective. However, Japanese newspapers tend to present factual stories rather than arguments in analyzing the issue. American newspapers, on the other hand, present arguments for both sides. Both countries are depicted negatively in the news. Japanese and American press tend to blame the US for the prevailing trade dispute.
