La "Reforme de l'orthographie."
Article Abstract:
The orthographic reform announced by the Conseil Superieur de la Langue Francaise in 1990 made recommendations concerning the use of the hyphen. The hyphens are recommended to be retained in complex numbers. Compound nouns formed with a verbal element as the base followed by 'tout' or by a nominal can be written as a single word. Also written as a single word rather than hyphenated are words composed of nominal and adjectival elements, onomatopoeic terms or 'expressive words,' and well-established words of foreign origin. The hyphenated form is recommended for neologisms which are used metaphorically. Article text is in French.
