Pakistan's economic condition in 2003 and its causes are examined in the light of three key areas namely: the political deadlock over the Legal Framework Order, international uncertainties including Pakistan's uneasy peace process with India, and Pakistan's continuing economic uncertainties despite the post-9/11 improvement in the external trading account.
