"That Evening Sun(g):" blues inscribing black space in white stories
Article Abstract:
Faulkner's "That Evening Sun" seems a simple enough story, with nostalgia and reflection of childhood of the Compson family, when they became intensely fascinated with the circumstances of the laundry-woman, Nancy Mannigoe, and her prostitution and addiction. The most important meaning of blues is a state of mind, and a lesson is given in harmonious living inspite of racialism.
