South Ardmore is home to one of the oldest predominantly African American suburban communities in the US, whose residents are concerned about a recent influx of young white families. Though they recognize the value of diversity, they fear the neighborhood may become unaffordable for blacks.

Residents of West Philadelphia feel that the government has neglected the place in favor of the Central City. The once ideal neighborhood is now a a representation of an impoverished and undeveloped portion of Philadelphia.
