Women considering hormone replacement therapy (HRT) get mixed messages from doctors and the media. The benefits of HRT include freedom from hot flashes and a rekindled sex drive. Modern research, unfortunately, has not fully cleared up the role of HRT in cancer.

Hysterectomy is the most commonly performed operation in the US. More than 33% of US women have the operation by the age of 60. It is not always necessary, and patients should explore alternative treatments to such problems as fibroid tumors.
