Trade orientation and industrial sector growth in developing countries
Article Abstract:
Outward-oriented trade strategies are perceived to be superior to inward-oriented trade strategies in sustaining economic growth among developing economies. There has not been much attention given to studying the relationship between trade orientation and industrial growth. A two-stage approach is used to study industrial growth paths and prove the superiority of outward-oriented strategies in the industrialization of a sample of developing countries from 1973-1985.
