Von Mullahs und Deutschen: Annaherung an das Werk des iranischen Exillyrikers Said

Article Abstract:

The work of the Iranian poet Said, living in exile in Germany for the past 35 years, is discussed. Said considers himself the voice of all those persecuted and killed by Iran's two modern totalitarian regimes. He believes his adopted and his native countries will both have multicultural societies in the future.

Beyond the wandering Jew: anti-semitism and narrative supersession in Goethe's

Article Abstract:

The interpretation a few anti-semitic passages in Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahre is analyzed. A paradoxical logic linking the anti-semitic passages to the novel's idea of wandering as an ironic, anti-essentialist, existential outlook is discussed. The narrative style of Goethe is analyzed.
