It is possible to fly to Milan, Italy, from the UK very cheaply at present. The city is based around the piazza del Duomo, which is dominated by the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. The arty Brera quarter is situated north of the cathedral. Those interested in art should also visit the convent of Santa Maria Delle Grazie west of the cathedral, where Leonardo da Vinci's 'Last Supper' can be seen. Milan has many attractive shops, and visitors may also wish to go to the La Scala opera house.
