A Muslim cause in Chechnya
Article Abstract:
In western nations, the conflict between Russia and the breakaway republic of Chechnya has been seen almost exclusively in terms of the damage it will do to the Russian Federation. In the Middle East, however, the focus has been on the Islamic side of the Chechen struggle, with considerable interest in a Muslim community fighting against Christian Orthodox powers. The battle is seen as an attack on Islam, and the reaction in the Middle East should be taken very seriously.

Why does the Titanic so fascinate us? It's a story about the hour of our death
Article Abstract:
The sinking of the Titanic on Apr 14, 1912, has for many years been seen as symbolic of the class system around which UK society was based at that time and of the arrogance of power. For Arabs, the disaster indicates that claims about the superiority of western technology are false and that God is genuinely greater than man. The real explanation for continuing fascination with the Titanic may be that the disaster is a stark reminder of inevitable death.
