A charity of one's own
Article Abstract:
Working with children and having a large family can make you very sensitive to the needs of other children, especially those who are deprived, according to Kim Pollit. He is currently seeking to raise 20,000 pounds sterling for an orphanage for 60 destitute and homeless children in a rural area of the Indian state of Madras, having been alerted to problems there by an article in a UK newspaper. In the UK, he has already been responsible for creating Cirencester Housing for Young People, which has three houses providing shelter for 16 young people.

Recruiting for a private army
Article Abstract:
The UK's independent schools believe that they offer teachers better working conditions than those of the state sector. Teachers in independent schools generally have a considerable degree of autonomy, along with access to good facilities such as information technology. Classes are smaller in independent schools than in state schools, and strong emphasis is placed on professional development. Teachers in independent schools also gain considerable benefits from contact with the inspection system for independent schools.
