Michael Portillo, the Conservative party's candidate for the seat of Kensington and Chelsea, London, England, faces a range of rivals. The Labour party's candidate is Robert Atkinson, the leader of the local Labour group. He claims that Labour is the only one-nation party in the contest. Adrian Rogers, the Integrity candidate, is a former Conservative who plans to fight on a pro-family platform, while John Stevens, the leader of the Pro Euro Conservative party, will seek to appeal to more moderate voters.

Silent but sinister ploy of preying on prejudice

Mark Cotterill, founder of the American Friends of the British National Party, is profiled. Anti-racist organization Southern Poverty Law Centre claims that Cotterill has managed to raise around 80,000 pounds sterling for the British National Party. The US Justice Dept and the Electoral Commission are now set to investigate him.

Robinson misled Parliament over Maxwell payment

Article Abstract:

The Commons Standards and Privileges Committee has upheld two complaints against former Paymaster General Geoffrey Robinson. It has been ruled that Robinson failed to give full details about a payment of 200,000 pounds sterling from the late Robert Maxwell.
