A place of popes and killers

Article Abstract:

Visitors to Krakow, Poland, are strongly aware of the city's very close links with Roman Catholicism. There are many churches, and local people attend church very regularly. The city centre is very lively, especially on Saturdays, when there is music and street entertainment. Krakow is relatively compact, and it possible to walk between all the major attractions. These include the 14th-century Mariacki church and the Wawel Castle and adjoining cathedral.

Issues concerning the role of journalists during a time of international conflict are discussed. Some journalists seem to lose any sense of perspective, merely accepting what is said in misleading briefings. They must recognize that politicians seek to hide the fact that the extent, aims and dangers of military action are confused.

Article Abstract:

The 200-mile coastline of Italy's Gargano Peninsula is extremely attractive. The region attracts many visitors in high season, but becomes very quiet by Sep, when facilities such as restaurants are still open.
