Against living too close to the ground

Article Abstract:

There has been a strong reaction over recent years in the UK against the tower block housing which was very popular in the 1960s. However, it is now being increasingly recognized that high-rise housing could be the ideal solution to the shortage of space for housing development in London, England. Some architects feel that it is no longer correct to assume that everybody wants a garden, and believe that high-rise housing can be effective if it is sensitively designed and carefully managed.
