All these tears make me uneasy

Article Abstract:

A sense of unease is expressed regarding the amount of media attention being devoted to detailing the final moments of the victims of the terrorist attacks in the US. People across the world have grieved for the victims, but it is vital to remember that the same sympathy was often not shown in the past for innocent victims in countries such as Sierra Leone or Rwanda.

Afghan women will still be ignored

Article Abstract:

The fact that Taliban leaders and fighters have fled from Kabul, Afghanistan, leaving the city in the hands of the Northern Alliance, will not necessarily improve the circumstances of women. There will be a rush to make pacts with the Northern Alliance, and it is likely that the needs of women will not be taken into account.

Where are the women in this war?

Article Abstract:

It is vital that the voices of women are heard as the Allies take military action against Afghanistan. Women such as those who belong to the Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan make it clear that the battle against terrorism will not be won by weapons.
