Someone to watch over you
Article Abstract:
Some observers have expressed negative views about the advice to travellers provided by the UK Foreign Office. They feel that it is often poorly compiled and out of date, and fails to give sufficient detail. They also claim that political considerations tend to determine what information is given. This is denied by the Foreign Office, which believes that short messages are generally more effective than ones which give extensive detail.

The Canaries: more than lava and louts
Article Abstract:
Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, is extremely popular with British tourists, with one in 10 people who take a package holiday every year choosing Tenerife. It offers a favourable climate, good value for money and a relaxed lifestyle. The tourist industry has become vital to the island's economy, as it has little cultivable land.
